9th-Grade Projects

9th Grade Self

9th Grade Self

At the beginning of this year I was not as confident, and I was not ready for the high school experience. I tried my best to get used to it and the first few days. It was very hard for me to become confident throughout the school year. My goal at the beginning of the school year was to get straight A's on all my classes. So far, my goal has not been met but I will have a growth mindset throughout the year and try to get all A's for one quarter. My goal at the end of this year is to be confident in my learning even if I do not get the grade that I want. At the end of 9th grade I will see what class I excelled in, what class I struggled in, and what class I had the greatest growth in. At the end of this school year, I will need to do multiple steps to succeed in 9th grade, which are trying to communicate with the teacher, and be persistent throughout the school year. This year will be a hard for me because it is the first year of high school, but if I try I will get through it with ease.

We did a lot of things in Language Arts, but one thing I liked was Oral Presentation. I excelled in speaking while doing the Oral Presentation. I will show you two artifacts to prove me excelling. Click Language Arts to learn more about Language Arts class.

We did a lot of things in Math, but one thing I did not like was the zoo project. I struggled in collaboration while doing the zoo project. I will show you two artifacts to prove my struggle. Click Math to learn more about Math class.

We did a lot of things in Engineering Science, but one thing I liked was Inventor. I grew in building while CADing things. I will show you two artifacts to prove my growth. Click Engineering Science to learn more about Engineering Science class.

The artifact on the right shows my lowest point in writing and how I wasn't persistent the slightest bit.  As you read the essay, you can undoubtedly tell I did not try at all. There are many grammar issues and the story does not make much sense. I turned in this draft and undoubtedly got a bad grade. Looking at the grade I got, I wanted to persevere and learn more about writing rules.

My 10th grade Readiness

In August I was not as confident as now. In August I would never raise my hand to answer questions, now I always raise my hand when I have the answer in my mind. I almost got straight A’s from this school year, next year I will be more persistence and get straight A’s every quarter. One quality I had to rely on in 9th grade was collaboration. I struggled with collaboration a lot in 9th grade when I did the math project. I think I finally know how to collaborate and I can use this to my advantage in 10th grade, and collaboration might be my excelled in 10th grade. I am ready for 10th grade because I can try to use what I learned in 9th grade and incorporate that in 10th in a better way. In 10th grade I want to accomplish many things but one thing I really want to accomplish is getting better at speaking to people, so I get to know what they think and how I speak to them.
